The Z Flip 4 is a clamshell foldable device. So, let's explore the specifications and features.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Overview:
Design, Display
The design of the Galaxy Z
Flip 4 hasn't undergone a major overhaul. The external display remains
unchanged at 1.9 inches diagonally, as expected. This Super AMOLED panel allows
you to view notifications and access widgets for various applications.
Not only does the external screen
stay the same, but the exterior of the Z Flip 4 also remains consistent. The
frames are still constructed with Armor Aluminum, and the thickness remains at
17.1 mm at the hinge and 15.9 mm at the ends where the display meets.
Consequently, the gap when the phone is folded is the same size.
However, what distinguishes
it from the Z Flip 3 is that its primary cameras are slightly more pronounced,
and the sides have been flattened this time around. It is accessible in
Graphite, Blue, Pink Gold, and Bora Purple tones.
Upon unfolding the clamshell,
you reveal a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display inside. It features a Full HD
resolution with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Additionally, Samsung claims
that the panel is now 45% stronger due to changes in the display structure and
stronger ultra-thin glass.
For durability, both the
internal and external displays use Gorilla Glass Victus. The Flip also
maintains its IPX8 rating, meaning it can be submerged for up to 30 minutes in
up to 5 feet of water.
Performance, Battery
Under the hood, the Z Flip 4
is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. It is available in three storage
configurations: 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 8GB/512GB. On the software front, it
runs on Android 12-based One UI 4.1 out-of-the-box, but a stable version of
the upgraded One UI 5 (Android 13) update is already available for the Z Flip
4.
Moving on, the Galaxy Z Flip
4 has improved upon last year's Flip's battery life with a slightly larger
3700mAh cell. The charging speed has also been enhanced from the Flip 3's 15W
to 25W. This enables you to charge the smartphone to 50% in around 30 minutes.
Cameras
Additionally, the Flip 4
retains the same camera specifications as the previous year. This entails a
dual-camera setup with two 12MP lenses—one primary and one ultrawide. A 10MP
selfie camera is housed on the principal screen.
Users can utilize features
like FlexCam to capture group selfies from various angles by slightly folding
the phone. Samsung has also collaborated with Meta to enhance its FlexCam
service for major virtual entertainment platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, and
Facebook.
Rest of the specs
Additionally, the Z Flip 4
incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics. The
connectivity options include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and 5G. it comes with the help
of one nano SIM and one eSIM. Importantly, it comes with Samsung's
hardware-level Knox security.
